" MR DE' A DETROIT STORY " FILM

For all the people who think that electronic music is made by robots and nerds...
This documentary film was shot last year in Detroit. We stayed there and filmed for three weeks, every single day...
It was produced by Comic Strip Production and talks about Ade Mainor, aka Mr De', a musician and producer living and raising his daughter in the west side of the D.
With other people who joined in the Submerge Building, he tries to give job opportunities to the Detroiters who suffered for many years social and racial problems.
He's made some of the famous cabaret hits also called "ghetto-tech" music on the Electrofunk record label: "Sex on the beach", "Krank this muthafucka", "Ass and titties"...
In 2000 he gave us his first album ; "Electronic Funkyshit" . Check this..really good and innovative music, some of my favorites: a cover of Erotic City and Renaissance..
His new album is out soon: "Full Cycle".

Dvd of the film soon on the Submerge website..

You can watch it on friday afternoon in Brest. It'll be a part of the Astropolis music festival.
We won the Public's prize at the Lunel film festival in the south of France, it was broadcasted on Trace Tv, France 4, and the Belgian public tv RTBF.

MORE PHOTOS FROM THE FILM

Everywhere buildings gettin destroyed

We saw quite often those little bears in the streets of Detroit. When a young guy or a girl are killed, the people from the area come and put bears and little messages where the crime was commited.
There it was a young boy, 18 years old, he took three bullets in the head.

Brandon Calloway, a young up&coming electronic musician. First solo album "Black grooves" out soon..
